Street saw two crashes within block of each other Monday; has seen at least 20 crashes this past year (krdo.com) — Two serious crashes just hours apart on Galley Road near North Academy Boulevard in east Colorado Springs have neighbors alarmed, with police data showing at least 20 wrecks there in the past year. One incident involved a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian badly hurt, and investigators are still searching for the driver while urging anyone with information to call CSPD's non-emergency line.
   

3. 'Intuitively knows what I need': How service dogs are transforming lives in Colorado Springs (kktv.com) — Service dogs are making daily life safer and more independent for Colorado Springs residents, from individuals managing complex medical conditions to officers connecting with the community. Local nonprofit Sunrise Service Dogs and the Fountain Police Department highlight how trained animals provide emotional support, mobility help, and even medical alerts, while calling for more applicants, volunteers, and sponsors across southern Colorado.
