1. Passenger trains coming to downtown Colorado Springs? (fox21news.com) — Downtown Colorado Springs leaders are backing Issue 7A, a proposed 0.333% sales tax within five miles of new stations to bring CoCo passenger rail service to the city and Pueblo. If voters approve it, trains could start running by 2029, potentially boosting downtown businesses and visitor traffic while slightly raising sales tax near the line.

City Council postpones Project Taurus data center decision six months (koaa.com) — Colorado Springs City Council has delayed its final decision on the controversial Project Taurus data center for six months, pushing the next hearing to just after the April 2027 city election. Neighbors on the Westside are using the pause to raise money and hire experts to strengthen their appeal, while the developer says it followed city rules and still pledges playground and school technology investments regardless of the outcome.

4. Next week brings a Pinners Conference at Norris Penrose Event Center, garlic and orchid workshops, and the ongoing Colorado Springs Parade of Homes across El Paso County, offering plenty of ways to get decorating ideas and gardening tips.
   

5. GTRI Opens Secure Facility to Work Directly with U.S. Space Force (newswise.com) — A new Georgia Tech Research Institute field office has opened in Colorado Springs, giving local engineers and staff a secure workspace alongside U.S. Space Force teams. With about forty GTRI personnel already on site, the facility is meant to speed up collaboration on space and defense challenges, further cementing the city's role as a hub for military and aerospace innovation.
