Travel summit sets a CoCo date and Colfax Avenue BRT terms (denvergazette.com) — Denver's transportation director says new dedicated bus lanes on Colfax Avenue from Colorado Boulevard to downtown will open in about a month, a key step toward full bus rapid transit. At a regional summit, she outlined goals to shift car trips to transit for every Denver resident and stressed that safety, ridership, and easy access to Colfax storefronts will determine whether the line truly works.
   

2. Denver moves up Aztlan Pool rebuild timeline after massive leak shut down the Sunnyside facility (denver7.com) — Sunnyside neighbors won't have Aztlan Pool back for the 2027 summer, but Denver is speeding up a full rebuild after massive leaks forced the facility to close and dump tens of thousands of gallons of water. Using $15 million from the voter-approved Vibrant Denver Bond, the city is already selecting a designer and plans community input on features like zero-entry access, splash pads, and kiddie areas, aiming for a possible 2028 reopening.
   

3. Northglenn reminding parents to keep an eye on kids using illicit e-bikes (kdvr.com) — Denver-based KDVR highlights a warning from Northglenn police after officers stopped kids, about 13 years old, riding high-powered, unlicensed e-motorbikes recklessly through traffic and on sidewalks. Parents across the metro area are urged to closely monitor children's e-bikes and e-motos, since many models aren't legal on public streets and can reach nearly 50 miles per hour without proper safety gear.
   

4. Denver Broncos Foundation announces new scholarship with Wings Credit Union, awarding up to $75,000 annually (krdo.com) — A new Denver Broncos Foundation scholarship with Wings Credit Union is offering up to $75,000 a year to help Colorado students ages 16–24 pay for college, trade school, or career training. Applicants can request up to $5,000 for tuition, books, and other expenses, with 15–30 students expected to be selected annually through at least 2028. Applications are open now and close October 8.
   

5. Mail-in voting lawsuit: Colorado AG joins 20+ states suing USPS over new election rules (denver7.com) — From Denver's attorney general has joined more than 20 states in suing the U.S. Postal Service over new mail-in voting rules tied to a Trump executive order, arguing they could disrupt the 2026 midterms. Local voters interviewed stress how essential mail ballots are, while state officials prepare backup plans to ensure Denver residents can still cast and return ballots securely.
