1. Bond reduced for man accused of diverting cities' water (thegoldentranscript.com) — Golden's water supply is at the center of a felony case after prosecutors say a Denver man repeatedly tampered with Berthoud Pass headgates, diverting drinking water meant for Golden and Northglenn. A judge just reduced his bond to a personal recognizance bond, and a preliminary hearing is set for October as officials detail years of costly damage and disruption.
   

2. Golden is closing the Tucker Gulch Trail until further notice due to 'heavy bear activity' (kktv.com) — Golden has closed the Tucker Gulch Trail between 1st and 7th streets until further notice because of unusually heavy bear activity this fall. With drought pushing bears into town and thousands of sightings statewide, officials urge residents and visitors to follow BearWise tips and stay alert for wildlife while the closure and education campaign continue.
   

3. Sherpa climbers bring Everest stories to Crested Butte (crestedbuttenews.com) — Sherpa community leaders are working toward a permanent cultural and community center in Golden, aiming to connect Colorado mountain towns more closely with Nepal. While this week's Everest storytelling event is in Crested Butte, Golden residents may soon see more Sherpa-led cultural programming and opportunities to support flood relief and future exchanges between Colorado and Nepal.
   

4. Miner Mischief (with Dynamite) (goldentoday.com) — Ninety-five years ago, Golden was the stage for escalating pranks between Colorado School of Mines and Denver University students, including dynamite near the iconic M on Mt. Zion. The Colorado Transcript recounted airplanes dropping taunting postcards, painted statues, and late-night explosions that drew in the sheriff and threatened to cancel the big football game.
   

5. Kujawa, Gremel are wed (sewardindependent.com) — A Seward couple recently chose Mother Cabrini Shrine in Golden for their June wedding ceremony, highlighting the shrine as a meaningful Front Range destination. After exchanging vows with family and friends, they celebrated with dinner in nearby Genesee before returning to Nebraska, where they now live and work in design, engineering, and telecommunications.
