Avon, Farmington Partner For Back-to-School Supply Drive This Weekend
Both towns' social services departments will collect donated school supplies at the Avon Walmart.
AVON/FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington Community Services and Avon Social Services are teaming up to collect school supplies for local students during a community Back-to-School Drive this weekend.
The drive will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Walmart in Avon, 255 W. Main St.
Organizers are asking shoppers to donate new school supplies to help students start the school year prepared and ready to learn.

Among the items most needed are:
- Backpacks
- Crayons
- Notebooks
- Pencils
- Glue
- Erasers
- Markers
According to the participating agencies, donated supplies will help local students feel confident, prepared, and ready for the upcoming school year.
