• Avon Honored For Efforts To Help Older Residents Age Well (patch.com) — Avon has been honored by the Connecticut Age Well Collaborative for its work helping older residents stay connected and access services, including a new resource guide now in development. The town plans to publish the guide on its website and Facebook page, highlighting local services and tackling ageism so Avon residents of all ages can better find the support they need.
   

• Avon/St. Paul drops defensive battle against Simsbury, 20-6 (bristolpress.com) — Avon/St. Paul's football co-op fell 20-6 to Simsbury in a defensive battle played at Avon High School, despite several promising drives. The Falcons tied the game early and created turnovers but couldn't finish late possessions, and now look ahead to hosting Weston on Oct. 2 as they try to even their record.
