Avon Weekend Guide: A Quiet Columbus Day Weekend And A Hike To Heublein Tower Next Door

With little on Avon's calendar this weekend, a short drive to Talcott Mountain brings fall views from Heublein Tower.

With little on the calendar this Columbus Day weekend, Avon's natural beauty this autumn is still a good option for getting out for a relaxing outing.

AVON, CT — Avon's own calendar is quiet this Columbus Day weekend, with no public arts or dining events posted by the town library, the historical society, or local venues for Thursday, Oct. 8, through Sunday, Oct. 11.

Just over the ridge, Talcott Mountain's Heublein Tower offers one of the region's best fall views.
