Can Dogs Fly? Avon Library To Host 4 Who Can

Watch four world-record Frisbee dogs perform at the Avon Free Public Library's free Wonderful Wednesdays event this week.

AVON, CT — High-flying canine athletes will take center stage at the Avon Free Public Library on Wednesday, July 22, during a free family-friendly performance featuring Mike's Flying High Dogs.

The show, part of the library's Wonderful Wednesdays series, begins at 3 p.m. on the library lawn and is open to all ages on a first-come, first-served basis.

Visitors will see Mike Piazza (not the baseball Hall of Famer) and his four Frisbee dogs — Maui, Chaos, Mojo and Oreo — perform jumps, dives and aerial catches in a demonstration of canine athleticism.

According to the library, Mike's dogs hold four world records for flying disc performances.

Following the show, attendees may have an opportunity to meet and pet the dogs.

The performance is scheduled to run until approximately 3:40 p.m.

Weather permitting, the event will be held outdoors on the library lawn.

If necessary, it will move indoors to the library's Community Room.

The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Avon Free Public Library.

The library describes the show as suitable for all ages, with dynamic demonstrations designed to entertain children and adults alike.
