• Avon Theater Group Seeks Board Secretary, Fundraising Help (patch.com) — Avon's Playhouse 44 is looking for a new board secretary and fundraising volunteers as it expands its community theater offerings. The mostly remote role supports a growing slate of productions, including an original comedy planned for October at Avon Town Hall and ambitious programming through 2027 and beyond.
   

• Popular pet food recalled after 3 dogs got sick in latest U.S. salmonella scare (fastcompany.com) — An Avon-based pet food maker, Oma's Pride, has recalled 639 bags of its Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe after FDA testing found salmonella, with three dogs reportedly getting sick. Avon pet owners should check any 6-pound Woof Complete Chicken bags they have at home and stop using them, since people can also get sick from handling contaminated food.
