Aldo Rascati Obituary: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Aldo Rascati 92 of Branford passed away October 4, 2026 at the VA Hospital in West Haven. He was born January 27, 1934 in New Haven to Frank and Caterina (Ferrara) Rascati. Aldo is survived by his three devoted children; Ronald Rascati of Branford, Catherine Rascati (Doug Payne) of Branford and Richard Rascati (Jamie Cote) of East Haven, a sister, Concetta Frase (Lawrence) of Branford along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Aldo is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joan (Casella) Rascati (2024), brother, Salvatore Rascati and a sister, Mary Alling.
Aldo was raised in the Morris Cove section of New Haven and graduated Wilbur Cross High School in 1951 and enlisted into the US Navy in 1953 where he played the trumpet for the Navy Band. He met his future wife, Joan Casella in Brooklyn NY and married in 1958. He worked for Sherwin-Williams for 23 years and then opened his own business Decorating Unlimited in Milford CT. He was a Milford Rotarian for over 50 years and a member of the Home Builders Association.

Aldo played in many weddings and bands over the years. Along with playing the trumpet, he would often build and repair violins. He had many friends, and will be dearly missed by all.
Family will receive friends on Friday October 9, 2026 from 4 to 6 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. All are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday October 10, at 10 AM in St. John Bosco Parish at the Church of St. Mary, 731 Main Street, Branford CT (Please go directly to the church on Saturday) with Committal/Burial to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford CT.
