Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Bridgeport Crash: Police (patch.com) — A Bridgeport woman is in critical condition after losing control of her motorcycle on Newfield Avenue and crashing into a utility pole and gate near Beardsley Street. Emergency crews rushed her to Bridgeport Hospital, and the police reconstruction team is investigating. Residents in Bridgeport are urged to contact Officer Nathan Fowler with any information about the crash.
   

2. Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day In Bridgeport Rescheduled (patch.com) — Bridgeport residents now have until October 17 to prepare hazardous household items for safe drop-off at Blackham School, after the city rescheduled its annual collection day due to expected bad weather. The free event, held in memory of Dennis Scinto, lets residents stay in their cars while crews unload and properly dispose of dangerous materials. It's a convenient way for Bridgeport households to clear out hazardous waste responsibly.
   

3. Person Killed In 3-Alarm Bridgeport Fire: Officials (patch.com) — A deadly multi-alarm fire on Denver Avenue in Bridgeport left one person dead after being rescued and taken to Bridgeport Hospital, while two others were evaluated and released without injuries. Firefighters encountered heavy flames on the building's third floor, triggering additional alarms, and both the Bridgeport and State Fire Marshal's offices are now investigating the cause.
   

4. Power restored at flood-damaged Bridgeport high-rise, but residents still waiting for hot water (news12.com) — Residents of Cartwright Towers in Bridgeport finally have electricity back after severe flash flooding, but many are still living without hot water and full building services. City officials say they're working with the privately owned complex to restore hot water, warning it could still be months before life fully returns to normal for tenants.
   

5. $30,000 & $20,000 Winning Scratch-Off Lottery Tickets Won By Bridgeport Residents (patch.com) — Bridgeport residents just scored $30,000 and $20,000 on Connecticut Lottery scratch-off tickets, including one bought at the Krauszers on Fairfield Avenue in town. The games still have many top prizes unclaimed, so locals who play should know the odds, remaining jackpots, and that winners' names are now kept private unless they consent.
