The new station is expected to allow firefighters to reach emergencies more quickly in west side neighborhoods while strengthening the Danbury Fire Department's overall coverage.
The property acquisition marks a significant step forward for the project under Mayor Roberto Alves' administration.
With the site now secured, the city said it will continue moving the project toward construction.
Officials did not announce a construction timeline, estimated project cost or anticipated opening date.
