1. Enfield Development Would Bring 358 Homes (patch.com) — Enfield residents could see 358 new homes at the former MassMutual campus on Bright Meadow Boulevard, with 240 units proposed in the first phase alone. Plans detail converting the vacant office building into apartments, adding townhomes, a clubhouse, pools, and commercial space, with the application headed to the Planning and Zoning Commission on Sept. 10.
   

2. Applications Open For Heating Help In Enfield (patch.com) — Enfield residents who need help with heating bills this winter can now apply for the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program, with benefits ranging from $355 to $705 depending on income and fuel type. Applications run through May 31, 2027, and can be completed online, via Community Renewal Team, or directly through Enfield Social Services at the Alcorn School on Enfield Street.
   

3. Enfield Man Gets 45 Years For Town Green Murder (patch.com) — An Enfield man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for the 2022 stabbing death of Christopher Kennedy at the Town Green gazebo. Jurors convicted him of murder in May, and prosecutors cited witness accounts, surveillance footage, and DNA evidence on a recovered knife in securing the lengthy sentence.
   

4. 'We will not be stopping': ICE fires back at Sen. Blumenthal after Danbury forum (nbcconnecticut.com) — A heated clash between ICE and Sen. Richard Blumenthal over recent immigration arrests in Danbury includes ICE highlighting several Connecticut cases, including serious convictions in Enfield. While the broader dispute centers on federal enforcement and state cooperation, Enfield is cited as the site of multiple offenses by one of the individuals ICE is detaining.
