Police sergeant sues Hamden claiming she was denied promotion because of discrimination complaint (ctpost.com) — A longtime Hamden police sergeant is suing the town, alleging she was denied promotion to lieutenant in retaliation for filing a sex discrimination complaint, while a judge's temporary restraining order has halted commission actions affecting her eligibility. 4. Motorcyclist critically injured after crashing into New Haven pond, police say (ctpost.com) — A 35-year-old Hamden man is in critical condition after his motorcycle left Ella T. Grasso Boulevard in New Haven and plunged into a pond near Southern Connecticut State University. Bystanders and emergency crews pulled him from the water before he was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, and New Haven police accident investigators are working to determine what caused the crash.
