Hartford Woman Shot Dead Over Weekend: Police

Hartford police said a woman was fatally shot on Saturday, and a person of interest was later found dead out of state.

HARTFORD, CT — Hartford police are investigating a domestic-related homicide after a woman was found fatally shot at a residence on Belden Street.

Officers responded to 62 Belden St. on Saturday, April 25, for a report of an unresponsive female, according to the Hartford Police Department.

Upon arrival, police located the victim suffering from an apparent injury that was later confirmed to be a gunshot wound.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified the victim as Keishla Claudio, 32, of Hartford.

During the investigation, authorities determined the incident is likely domestic-related, police said.

A person of interest was later found deceased out of state with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.

The department’s Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions continue to investigate. Officials said the case remains active and ongoing.
