Middletown Sports Complex Hosting 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive (On Sept. 9)

MIDDLETOWN, CT — The Middletown Sports Complex is slated to host a blood drive Sept. 9 as part of an effort by New Jersey Blood Services to encourage donations.

The blood drive is scheduled from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the sports complex, 214 Harmony Road.

The event is part of New Jersey Blood Services' “Honor. Give. Remember.” campaign, which marks 25 years of remembering the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Donors are encouraged to eat well and stay hydrated before giving blood and must bring a photo ID. Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with parental consent, and meet minimum weight requirements.

Those interested in donating can register at nybc.org/sponsor using sponsor code 71829.

New York Blood Center, which operates New Jersey Blood Services, says one blood donation can help multiple patients. Donors at the Middletown event will receive a commemorative gift while supplies last.
