• Brad Pitt Sighted In Middletown ... Dog With Famous Name Home Safe After Wandering Adventure (patch.com) — A Middletown dog named Brad Pitt is safely back home after slipping out of his house and wandering along Millbrook Road, where state troopers and a passerby helped secure him. Middletown Animal Control quickly identified his owner thanks to a microchip and now hopes the Good Samaritan who loaned a leash will come forward so it can be returned.
   

• Middlesex County America 250 Parade will be held on Labor Day (middletownct.gov) — Middletown will host the Middlesex County America 250 Parade this Labor Day, stepping off at 10 a.m. from the North End and finishing at the South Green. Residents can watch the parade, hear remarks from Mayor Gene Nocera and other officials, then stay for food trucks and a bring-your-own picnic as Middletown and Portland cap a year of Semiquincentennial celebrations.
   

• What you need to know about the 2026 CIAC girls swimming and diving season (ctpost.com) — Several key CIAC girls diving events, including the Class M and Class L championships and the State Open diving meet, will be held in Middletown this November. Local families can mark their calendars now as top swimmers and divers from across Connecticut head to town, with Middletown sharing hosting duties alongside Plainville, West Hartford, and Yale.
