Police Investigating Shooting In Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A heavy police presence converged on the Cooley Avenue area of Middletown Wednesday night after a shooting incident, authorities said.

The Middletown Police Department was advising residents to avoid the area while detectives conducted their investigation and officers secured the scene.

The advisory was posted at about 8 p.m.

"At this time, there is no immediate threat to the public. We appreciate your cooperation and will provide updates as more information becomes available," police said.
