MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown police are investigating a shots fired incident on Inverness Lane.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a residence on Inverness Lane following reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers determined that numerous rounds had been fired into the second floor of the home. according to an incident report.

No injuries were reported.

Police said the incident appears be an isolated one and said there is currently no threat to the public.

The investigation remains active, police said, and is being conducted by the MPD Major Investigations Unit.
