Milford Schools Seek Teachers, Staff To Fill Open Roles (patch.com) — Milford Public Schools is still hiring for a range of local positions even as the school year moves ahead, including paraprofessionals, substitutes, and special education roles. Milford's Anchor Social, opened in 2025, temporarily closes to make way for 'big plans' (ctpost.com) — Anchor Social on Merwin Avenue in Milford has temporarily closed, with owners promising "big plans" and assuring customers the restaurant is "not going anywhere." Opened in 2025 in Woodmont's former Village Bistro space, the New American spot plans to share updates as it prepares a revamped return.

Kayaking in New York and cleanup in Connecticut: Deadly nor'easter wallops the East Coast (dagens.com) — Milford residents endured about 13 hours without power as a weekend nor'easter flooded streets, toppled trees, and left parts of the coastal city underwater. The same storm caused deadly damage in New York and widespread outages in New Jersey, and forecasters warn strong winds and some flooding could linger into Monday along the East Coast.
