Monroe's Weekend Pick: Fall Fun At Benedict's

MONROE, CT — Monroe's arts and entertainment calendar is genuinely empty this week — no film, exhibit or performance turned up anywhere in town for Thursday through Sunday. What is open and running is Benedict's Home and Garden's fall season, now in its second week, for anyone looking for a weekend outing.

• Fall Fun at Benedict's — Thursday and Friday, straw maze and corn pit 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., corn maze 3 to 5 p.m.; Saturday, straw maze and corn pit 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., corn maze and hayrides 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. respectively; Sunday, straw maze and corn pit 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., corn maze 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., hayrides 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Straw maze and corn pit are free; corn maze is $8 for children 4-15 and $10 for adults; hayrides are $3 and $5. It's a rare stretch with nothing on Monroe's stage or screen, but the corn maze at Benedict's is a fine stand-in for anyone wanting to get outside this weekend.
