• Monroe receives favorable bond rating, interest rate to fund capital projects (themonroesun.com) — Monroe has secured a low 2.88% interest rate on nearly $5.9 million in bonds, thanks to its reaffirmed AAA credit rating, to fund school upgrades, road work, and public safety equipment. Town officials say the strong rating will save taxpayers money for years through lower borrowing costs, support major school facility planning, and help sustain home values and business investment.
