• Naugatuck Animal Control Seeking Donations Of 'Desperately Needed' Items (patch.com) — Naugatuck residents are being asked to help support local Animal Control as they care for numerous dogs and cats, many still on case hold awaiting court decisions. The shelter urgently needs cleaning supplies, cat litter, bedding, and dog treats, which can be dropped off or shipped directly to its Cherry Street facility, with an online wishlist also available.
   

• Naugatuck deputy police chief released on non-surety bond after domestic violence arrest (nhregister.com) — Naugatuck residents should know their deputy police chief, Daniel Norck, is on administrative leave after being arrested on domestic violence charges and released on a $25,000 non-surety bond. He faces assault and strangulation counts, is under a protective order, and will return to court in October while an internal affairs investigation proceeds.
