Connecticut Stage Company presents Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning rock musical "Next to Normal" on May 2 at 7pm and May 3 at 2pm.
With an electrifying pop/rock score and an honest, gut-wrenching script, "Next to Normal" explores how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness.
Dad's an architect; Mom rushes to pack lunches and pour cereal; their daughter and son are bright, wise-cracking teens, appearing to be a typical American family. And yet their lives are anything but normal because the mother has been battling bipolar disorder for 16 years. Next to Normal takes audiences into the minds and hearts of each character, presenting their family's story with love, sympathy and heart.
"Next to Normal" is led by 2 Tony Nominated Broadway stars Elizabeth Stanley and A.J. Shively, along with Broadway stars Gabe Carrubba, Ethan Riordan, Gianni Palmarini and Eric Chambliss.
Saturday night's performance is followed by an exclusive talkback with "Next to Normal" composer Tom Kitt
