1. Yale Pitches 2 New Hill Developments (newhavenindependent.org) — Hill neighbors in New Haven are weighing in as Yale proposes a new Biomedical Imaging Institute on Howard Avenue and a massive "College Place" complex on College Street, both tax-exempt projects. At a packed meeting at John C. Daniels School, residents pressed Yale on jobs, housing, parking, and long-term plans, insisting the Hill see direct benefits and real input before construction moves ahead.
   

2. AASHTO Journal - Connecticut DOT to Overhaul New Haven Train Station (transportation.org) — New Haven's Union Station is getting a state-funded makeover that will upgrade everything from restrooms and lighting to retail space, seating, and the parking garage over the next several years. With more than $24 million already committed and a separate $400 million platform project in design, residents can expect a long-term transformation of the city's busiest transportation hub.
   

3. Bridgeport man convicted of assaulting woman at New Haven nightclub (nhregister.com) — A Bridgeport man has been convicted of assaulting a woman he was ordered to stay away from at a New Haven nightclub, breaking her nose during a 2021 attack. Already serving time for a separate sexual assault case, he now faces additional sentencing in December at New Haven's state Superior Court, underscoring ongoing concerns about enforcement of protective orders.
   

4. Yale football expects more from defense against Cornell (wtnh.com) — Yale fans in New Haven can look ahead to Saturday's road game at Cornell, where the Bulldogs hope to build on last week's explosive offensive performance. Coaches and players say the defense, which surrendered 28 points to Holy Cross, has been a major focus in practice as they aim to tighten up and meet the program's standards.
   

5. Man admits role in theft of drilling rig Pa. that was shipped out of the country (pennlive.com) — A federal case with a New Haven connection has advanced as a New York City man admitted helping steal a $272,000 drilling rig in Pennsylvania that was later shipped to the Dominican Republic. His indicted co-conspirator, a New Haven resident, died in 2025 after being struck by a train in East Haven, but prosecutors say the ring altered and exported multiple stolen rigs.
