Man, 74, Sentenced In Sexual Assault Of Minor In North Haven: Officials

NEW HAVEN, CT — A Stratford man has been sentenced to serve five years in prison in connection with the sexual assault of a minor in North Haven, according to officials.

Mark Pasquariello, 74, was sentenced on Sept. 25 to 10 years in prison, suspended after five years served, and 10 years of probation, New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. Doyle Jr.

Superior Court Judge Richard J. Rubino also ordered Pasquariello to register with Connecticut’s Sex Offender Registry.

Pasquariello pleaded guilty on July 22 in Meriden Superior Court to fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. He was initially charged by North Haven police in October 2024 with two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, two counts of illegal sexual contact to a minor, and one count of risk of injury to a minor.

Court records show that Pasquariello sexually assaulted a minor between the ages of 7 and 9 years old, according to Doyle.

Doyle said that at the sentencing hearing, Assistant State's Attorney Leah Schwartz “commended the victim for her courage in coming forward.”

Rubino said that the Pasquariello actions “impacted several people,” according to Doyle.
