City, Norwalk Public Schools To Hold Joint Budget Public Hearing (patch.com) — Norwalk residents are being asked to weigh in on how the city and school district should spend money in the 2027-2028 operating and capital budgets at a joint public hearing Tuesday evening. Held in City Hall and on Zoom, the session brings together the mayor, school leaders, and key finance officials to listen to community priorities before formal budget decisions are made.

Stew Leonard's Announces 2026 Halloween Events In Norwalk: PHOTOS (patch.com) — Norwalk families can start planning a full month of Halloween fun at Stew Leonard's, from a pumpkin painting palooza and a character costume breakfast to in-store trick-or-treating and free ice cream on Halloween. The Westport Avenue store also features a Halloween walk-through, seasonal treats like Screamsicle Milk, and festive decorations that turn the market into a local autumn destination.
   

3. Fire Breaks Out At Multi-Family Home In Norwalk: FD (patch.com) — Norwalk firefighters quickly knocked down a blaze in a large Union Park multi-family home Friday morning after residents reported smoke and alarms sounding. No one was hurt, but some occupants were displaced and are receiving help from the American Red Cross while the Fire Marshal investigates the cause.
   

4. Upcoming Road Closure Announced In Norwalk: City (patch.com) — Drivers in Norwalk should prepare for Cemetery Street to be fully closed between East Avenue and Gregory Boulevard next week, with one sidewalk still open for pedestrians. Police will use flaggers and on-site officers to manage detours and keep traffic and walkers moving safely through the area.
   

5. Norwalk Public Library To Offer Long-Term Laptop Loans (patch.com) — Norwalk residents who meet income-related criteria can soon borrow a Dell Pro 16 laptop from the Norwalk Public Library for six months, starting Oct. 5. Adults 18 and over who live in Norwalk, hold a Norwalk library card, and participate in programs like SNAP, HUSKY, Medicare, or CEAP can apply, helping bridge the digital divide for job searches, education, and telehealth.
