Fire Damages Norwich Mixed-Use Building On Central Avenue (patch.com) — Norwich residents may notice damage at a mixed-use building on Central Avenue after an early-morning fire sent firefighters to 2 Central Ave. around 1:14 a.m. Officials say police first spotted smoke while responding to a burglar alarm, and the Norwich Fire Marshal's Office is now investigating the cause.

Fat Cat Grill & Bar Closes For Good In Norwich (patch.com) — Norwich diners are saying goodbye to Fat Cat Grill & Bar, which has permanently closed after 15 years at Willow Tree Plaza on West Main Street. Owners, who had briefly shut down for planned renovations, confirmed on Facebook they will not reopen, prompting an outpouring of reactions from local fans who praised the restaurant's food and long-standing presence in town.
   

3. 1 Injured During Weekend Shooting In Norwich Burger King Parking Lot: PD (patch.com) — Norwich police are investigating a Sunday evening shooting in the Burger King parking lot on Salem Turnpike that left a man with a non-life-threatening leg wound. Investigators believe the attack was targeted and are asking anyone with information to contact Det. Cornelius Carmody or use the department's anonymous tip line.
