• Norwich police investigating early morning shots fired incident (wtnh.com) — Norwich police are investigating a targeted shots-fired incident early Monday near Oak and Division streets, where several rounds were heard but no one was hurt. Officers recovered shell casings on Clairmont Avenue and say there's no ongoing threat, but they're asking anyone who saw or heard anything to contact Detective Tom Lawton or use the department's anonymous tip line.
   

• 18 people arrested after June street takeover in Newington (wtnh.com) — Police say 18 people have been arrested after a massive July street takeover in Newington involving about 200 ATVs, dirt bikes and other vehicles performing dangerous stunts. Among those charged is a 29-year-old Norwich resident, facing counts including street takeover, reckless endangerment and reckless driving, with investigators warning that more arrests are expected.
