Applications Open For Tiger Shark Tank 5 Business Pitch Competition In Ridgefield

Tiger Shark Tank will return to the Ridgefield Playhouse this fall, with applications now open.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — Applications are open for Tiger Shark Tank 5, the fifth annual live business pitch competition organized by the Ridgefield Economic and Community Development Commission.

The event is scheduled for Oct. 27 at the Ridgefield Playhouse. The competition brings together entrepreneurs, founders, business leaders, investors and community members for live business presentations.

Tiger Shark Tank was launched in 2022. The commission said the event gives entrepreneurs a chance to present ideas to a panel of executives, investors and business leaders while receiving feedback and public exposure.

“Five years ago, Tiger Shark Tank was created to showcase the incredible entrepreneurial talent that exists in Ridgefield and throughout our region,” Sean Dowd, ECDC commissioner emeritus and founder of the event, said in the release. “The success stories we’ve seen since then demonstrate the power of connecting innovators with business leaders, mentors, and a supportive community. We’re excited to celebrate our fifth season and discover the next great business idea.”

Applicants will compete for about $5,000 in prizes. Previous judging panels have included CEOs of global corporations, founders of nationally recognized companies, private equity investors and entrepreneurs.

Past winners include InterPrice Technologies, Pop Art! Kids and Ideal Home Innovations.

Finalists will receive promotion through ECDC marketing channels, local media coverage, social media campaigns and event publicity before the competition, the release said.

The event will begin with a networking reception before the live presentations.

Tiger Shark Tank 5 is open to Ridgefield residents, Ridgefield business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs looking to start a business in Ridgefield. Eligible participants include startups, small businesses, nonprofits, student entrepreneurs and established businesses with new ideas, according to the commission.
