1. 7 Ridgefield High School Students Named National Merit Semifinalists (patch.com) — Ridgefield residents can celebrate seven Ridgefield High School seniors who have been named semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program, placing them among the top 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors. These students now move on in the rigorous process to compete for a share of about $24 million in scholarships to be awarded next spring.
   

2. Caporale, O'Leary, Serfilippi: Recent Death Notices From Ridgefield (patch.com subscription) — Ridgefield is mourning several community members, including longtime residents, Ridgefield High School graduates, and a local farm owner and Rotary Club member. The notices honor their careers, community involvement, and surviving families, offering neighbors a chance to recognize their contributions and support loved ones as they grieve these recent losses.
   

3. EXPECT DELAYS: Aquarion Water Main Replacement Project To Begin In Ridgefield (patch.com subscription) — Ridgefield drivers on Peaceable Street, Peaceable Hill Road, and Peaceable Ridge Road should prepare for traffic delays starting Sept. 14 as Aquarion replaces more than a mile of water main through February. Work runs weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and residents can sign up for Everbridge alerts or contact Aquarion's project manager for weekly updates and questions.
   

4. Major 'SNL' Contributor Leaving Ahead Of Season 52 Premiere: Reports (dailyvoice.com) — A Ridgefield native, writer-performer Martin Herlihy is reportedly leaving Saturday Night Live ahead of its Season 52 premiere after contributing to 42 sketches and many Please Don't Destroy shorts. He and his comedy partners will continue working together outside the show, including projects like their Peacock film, while SNL moves forward with additional cast changes.
