Ridgefield P&Z To Review Land Purchase For Public Safety Building, Proposed Golf Driving Range

Ridgefield P&Z will review a public safety property purchase, golf driving range, adult day care proposal and Main Street signage.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Planning and Zoning Commission will continue reviewing a proposal to purchase property for a new public safety building and a separate application to establish a golf driving range when it meets Tuesday, Oct. 13.

The commission will also consider a proposed adult day care center, a new restaurant sign and awning on Main Street, and the possible sale of town-owned property.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Town Hall Annex, 66 Prospect St., in Meeting Room 2.

Public Safety Building Property Purchase

Commissioners will continue reviewing an 8-24 referral application concerning the proposed purchase of property at 221 Danbury Road.

The property is being considered for a new public safety building that would accommodate the Ridgefield Police Department, Fire Department emergency medical services, Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department and the town's communications center.

Golf Driving Range Hearing Continued To Oct. 27

A public hearing on a proposed golf driving range at 0 Ethan Allen Highway has been extended to Oct. 27 at the applicant's request.

The application seeks a special permit to establish a driving range, parking area and related improvements in a B-2 business zone.

EAP Property is listed as the owner, and Robert Jewell is the applicant.

Adult Day Care Center Proposed On Ivy Hill Road

Commissioners will receive a preliminary concept for establishing an adult day care center at 6 Ivy Hill Road.

The property is located in the RAA residential zone.

The proposal is being presented under the commission's pre-submission review process.

Main Street Restaurant Seeks Sign And Awning Approval

A new restaurant, Fieldhouse Kitchen and Bar, is seeking Village District approval for a building or wall sign and awning at 439 Main St..

The application identifies Addessi Center II LLC as the property owner and John Gazzola as the applicant.

The property is in the central business district.

Commission staff recommends receiving the application Oct. 13 and scheduling discussion for Oct. 27.

Other Applications And Business

The commission's agenda includes several additional matters:

  • Town property sale: Continued review of an 8-24 referral concerning the proposed sale of land at 29 Lakeview Drive, identified as parcel F08-0160.
  • Residential swimming pool: Receipt of a special permit application for an in-ground swimming pool structure in the front yard at 6 Ritch Drive. The property owners are Anne-Marie Clifford and Bennett Covino, and the applicant is Samantha Brant. Staff recommends a Nov. 8 site walk and Nov. 10 public hearing.
  • Zoning regulations: Continued review of proposed zoning regulation updates, including a discussion of native plants.
  • Branchville: Continued work on the Branchville Strategic Review.
  • Enforcement: Review of a complaint or violation matter involving 225 Bennetts Farm Road.

Commissioners are also scheduled to consider approval of their Sept. 22 meeting minutes.
