Grand Opening Date Announced For New Family-Owned Toy Store In Shelton

SHELTON, CT — Shelton Toys & Games, a new independent family-owned toy store located at 866 Bridgeport Avenue, announced Monday the store will hold its grand opening Nov. 8.

The grand opening celebration will feature family-friendly festivities throughout the day, including giveaways and toy demos, according to a news release provided by the store.

Fairfield resident Lindsay Orr, who owns the store with her husband, David, told Patch in September the couple decided to open their new toy store in Shelton mainly due to the large amount of families who live in the area.

"We feel like we're going to provide exactly what we value as a young family - a great toy shopping experience - to families in Shelton," Orr said in an email to Patch in September.

Shelton Toys & Games plans to cater to all ages and aims to be the ultimate neighborhood toy store, according to the news release.

The owners also hope to "bring the joy back to toy shopping" as they welcome customers into their new space in November.

"We are a busy family, and we're always in need of something convenient in town to grab a gift on the way to a birthday party, shopping for the holidays or a place to take our kids to celebrate milestones big and small," Orr said in September. "We also love the connection and community we feel when shopping local. We're excited to bring that to Shelton."

Orr also noted the store plans to carry classic toys and keep up to date on the newest toy trends, with an emphasis placed on customer service.

The store will also offer gift-wrapping services.
