'Serious' Vehicle Crash Reported In Shelton, 'Extreme Traffic Delays' Expected: Police

Police said "extreme traffic delays" are expected as a result of the crash, and drivers are strongly advised to avoid the area.

SHELTON, CT — A "serious motor vehicle accident" was reported Monday morning in Shelton, according to the Shelton Police Department.

In a Facebook post around 9:30 a.m., police said the serious crash was reported on Route 8 in the area of Exit 11 North.

According to police, an active investigation is underway and drivers should expect extreme traffic delays in the area.

Drivers are also strongly advised to avoid Route 8 near Exit 11 until further notice.
