Enjoy A Bike Ride With Simsbury Selectmen This Week

SIMSBURY, CT — A free vent this week will give residents a chance to get to know the town's top elected officials in a setting much, much more casual than a meeting room.

The Simsbury Board of Selectmen will host its annual community bike ride on Thursday, May 27, as part of the town’s Bike Month celebrations.

The free event is scheduled from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will begin at Simsbury Town Hall, 933 Hopmeadow St., according to town officials.

Participants will ride along the East Coast Greenway to Lake Basile on a route covering approximately 5 miles round trip.

Town officials said riders of all ages, experience levels, and bicycle types are welcome. Participants are asked to bring their own bicycle and helmet.

The event will conclude with free ice cream for participants.

The ride is supported by Simsbury Public Works, the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee and Simsbury Parks and Recreation.
