• Expanded Museum Exhibit Highlights Southington's Early Families, Immigrant History (patch.com) — Southington residents can explore nearly 200 years of local school and immigrant history at a newly expanded exhibit on the West Street School, open free on Saturdays in October at the Southington Historical Society. The display highlights early Polish and Czech/Slovak families, land records, and Adelaide Pender's firsthand account of West Street's "old families," along with the restoration story of the town's original one-room schoolhouse.
   

• Southington FD receives $3.03M in FEMA funds (bristolpress.com) — Southington's fire protection could soon get a major boost, as the town has been awarded a $3.03 million FEMA SAFER grant to hire 12 firefighters and fully staff all three firehouses around the clock. Town leaders will review and vote on accepting the grant, which would be mostly federally funded in the first year and aims to improve coverage in every part of Southington.
   

• Volleyball Recap: Simsbury Pushes Southington to the Limit (maxpreps.com) — Southington's Blue Knights volleyball team edged Simsbury in a tight five-set match, powered by standout performances from setter Emme Steindl and hitter Lily Eidukaityte. The win improves Southington to 7-4 overall, and the team now looks to build on that momentum when it hosts Wethersfield at home on Thursday evening.
