• Funds Available For Southington Programs/Projects (patch.com) — Southington nonprofits and local artists have several chances to secure new funding through Main Street Community Foundation grants, including the Barnes Memorial Trust focused on improving health outcomes for Southington residents. Additional funds support programs for men, boys, women, girls, animal welfare, and the arts, with application deadlines beginning in mid-September and staff available to discuss project ideas.
   

• After Southington sports team covers side of building with mural, town weighs new rules (ctpost.com) — Southington officials are rethinking how sports teams and other groups can paint logos or murals on town-owned buildings after one team covered an entire side of a structure. The town manager and council chair are considering formal policies, or possibly an ordinance, to ensure any major changes to parks, buildings, or field names get reviewed and approved by the Town Council.
   

• Southington Republicans bash Democratic Town Committee after BOF lawsuit filed (newbritainherald.com) — Southington's Republican Town Committee is sharply criticizing the local Democratic Town Committee over a lawsuit challenging Republican Robert Britton's appointment to the Board of Finance. Republicans insist the Town Council followed the Southington Town Charter and a legal opinion, while Democrats argue the council lacked authority to fill that vacancy, leaving the dispute for the courts to resolve.
