Stamford Man Gets Additional Prison Time For Selling Drugs After Being Sentenced In Different Federal Case

The man was sentenced in Bridgeport last week, according to officials.

STAMFORD, CT — A Stamford man was sentenced last Friday to an additional 14 months in prison for selling crack cocaine after he was sentenced in another federal case before he was required to report to prison, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut David X. Sullivan.

Danny Turkvan, 55, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport.

On Aug. 13, 2025, Turkvan was sentenced in Hartford federal court to 46 months in prison and three years of supervised release for his participation in a southwestern Connecticut drug trafficking conspiracy, Sullivan said. Turkvan, who was released on a $150,000 bond, was ordered to report to prison on Oct. 16, 2025.

An investigation found that Turkvan continued to sell drugs after his August 2025 sentencing, Sullivan said, noting Stamford police arrested Turkvan on state charges on Oct. 11, 2025, and seized crack cocaine that he intended to sell.

Turkvan has been detained since his arrest. On July 8, he pleaded guilty in federal court to possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, or "crack."
