Stamford Resident Wins $100K Again From CT Lottery Game

This is the second time in three months the resident has won $100,000 from playing the lottery game, the Connecticut Lottery said.

STAMFORD, CT — A Stamford woman recently won $100,000 for the second time in three months after playing the CASH5 lottery game, the Connecticut Lottery announced Wednesday.

The woman, who is anonymous, first won the top prize of $100,000 from CASH5 in July. Her second lucky draw came on Oct. 24.

The tickets were purchased at Glenbrook News & Variety, located at 332 Hope St.

According to the CT Lottery, the woman typically plays numbers based on birthdays and anniversaries, but this time, she let the computer pick.

Her husband stops at Glenbrook News & Variety to buy their lottery tickets as part of their morning routine, the CT Lottery said. She then checks the numbers on the CT Lottery app over a cup of coffee.

When she discovered her latest win, she called her husband immediately

"I think I'm dreaming…we hit CASH5 again!" she said, according to the CT Lottery. Her husband rushed home.

The couple plans to retire and move to Florida, the CT Lottery said, noting they consider Glenbrook News & Variety "the luckiest store in Stamford."

Cash5 is a pari-mutuel game with a top prize of $100,000, meaning that all prize winners share equally in the available prize pool monies for that drawing.

The game starts at $1 per play, with drawings taking place daily at 10:29 p.m.

Players choose five numbers from 1–35 or choose Quick Pick and let the computer randomly select numbers. Players can also add a "kicker" for 50 cents and select one additional number from 1-35 for more ways to win.

The odds of taking home the top prize are one in 324,632, the CT Lottery website notes.
