• Helping Ukraine: Dentist to close Storrs business, return home (thechronicle.com) — A long-standing dental practice on Storrs Road will close on Dec. 30 as Dr. Rostyslav Stepanenko and his wife, Luba, return to Ukraine to volunteer their skills for veterans. Storrs patients are encouraged to schedule any remaining treatments soon, as the couple winds down more than two decades of local care and prepares for humanitarian work abroad.
   

• Fall career fairs appear this week (dailycampus.com) — UConn students in Storrs can meet 181 employers at fall career fairs on Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Union. Organizers say attendees are more likely to land jobs or internships, and encourage students to prepare resumes, practice pitches, and research companies in advance.
