• 10 dogs rescued from 'horrific' conditions in Stratford, animal control says (ctpost.com) — Ten dogs, including eight sick puppies, were rescued from what Stratford Animal Care & Control describes as horrific living conditions and rushed for emergency veterinary care. With an animal-cruelty arrest made and a long recovery ahead, the shelter is asking Stratford residents to help by donating toward the dogs' medical treatment and supplies.

You can meet adoptable cats and kittens, enjoy refreshments, have adoption fees waived, and support the shelter through a suggested donation or items from its Kitten Shower Registry.

• Northrop Grumman Wins $508.5M Missile Defense Agency Ballistic Missile Target Contract (clearancejobs.com) — Lockheed Martin's Rotary and Mission Systems facility in Stratford has secured a $20.3 million Air Force contract modification to handle HH-60W helicopter repairs through April 2027. The work, funded by 2025 aircraft procurement dollars, helps sustain local high-skilled defense jobs while supporting long-term maintenance of this combat rescue aircraft fleet.
