• Stratford $1B waterfront project: What happens next (thehour.com) — Stratford officials and developers are advancing a $1 billion plan to transform the former Army Engine Plant at 550 Main Street into a mixed-use waterfront district with housing, parks, shops, and public gathering spaces. A master plan is expected by December, with demolition and flood-resiliency work continuing so vertical construction could begin by 2027, eventually bringing hundreds of jobs and millions in new tax revenue.

• Connecticut businesses are saving thousands on energy. You can too. Start with a no-cost energy audit (westfaironline.com) — A longtime pasta maker operating two Stratford facilities has installed new process chiller plants that are projected to save more than $89,000 a year in energy costs and over $1.3 million over their lifetime. The upgrades, done through a partnership with United Illuminating and SCG, show how local manufacturers can cut operating expenses and energy use through utility-supported efficiency projects.
