Starting Sept. 28, drivers who pass stopped Vernon school buses with red lights flashing will face a $250 fine, so local motorists should adjust their habits now.
   

• Cell Phone Stop Turns Into Drug Arrest In Vernon (patch.com) — A routine cell phone traffic stop in Vernon on Hartford Turnpike led police to arrest a Hartford man after finding several types of illegal drugs. He now faces multiple drug and paraphernalia charges and was held on a $50,000 bond for a Rockville Superior Court appearance.
