Vernon Woman Arrested After Task Force Narcotics Investigation: Police
Investigators were executing two search warrants related to the investigation.

VERNON, CT — A Vernon woman was arrested following a task force narcotics investigation that resulted in the seizure of small quantities of crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to police.
Ivette Ruiz, 39, of Vernon, was arrested Sept. 29 after members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force and Vernon Police Department conducted a search as part of an ongoing investigation.
According to the Vernon Police Department arrest log, investigators were executing two search warrants related to the investigation when Ruiz was seen leaving her residence and walking to a nearby business. Police said she was detained without incident under the authority of a search warrant for her residence.

A subsequent search of the home resulted in the discovery of the suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Ruiz was charged with use of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and risk of injury to a child, according to the arrest log.

She was released on a $25,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear Oct. 13 in Rockville Superior Court.
