• Helicopters Conducting Inspections In Wallingford, Here's Why (patch.com) — Low-flying helicopters will be visible over Wallingford as Eversource inspects high‑voltage transmission lines on Thursday, Aug. 27, and Thursday, Sept. 3, weather permitting. The patrols, part of routine maintenance and storm preparedness, aim to spot vegetation or other issues that could threaten electric reliability in Wallingford and neighboring communities.
   

• Police Identify Man Killed In Seymour Quarry Accident (newhavenindependent.org) — A Wallingford man, 41-year-old Edwin Sinclair, was killed Monday when rocks fell on him while he operated machinery at Haynes Quarry in Seymour. Officials ruled the death an accident caused by blunt force trauma, and state police along with CONN-OSHA are investigating. His employer praised him as a true professional and offered condolences to his family, friends, and coworkers.
   

• Wallingford Journalist's Courtroom Wink Cost Her Credentials At Lindsay Clancy Trial: Report (dailyvoice.com) — A Wallingford native, journalist Brittany Romano, lost her Vanity Fair courtroom credentials after a televised wink during the high-profile Lindsay Clancy murder trial in Massachusetts drew criticism and scrutiny. Romano, now a Manhattan-based editor, said her reaction stemmed from knowing Clancy personally and from past comments by her father about her TV appearances. The magazine ultimately dropped her planned personal essay and informed the court she was no longer credentialed.
