Traffic, stormwater impacts, and long-term maintenance dominated questions at the Planning and Zoning Commission, while residents voiced both strong support and environmental and management concerns before the hearing was continued to October.

Cayer goes undefeated to defend his Joss NE 9-Ball Tour 'Maine Event' title (azbilliards.com) — Yale Billiards in Wallingford is hosting the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour's second stop this weekend, featuring $1,500 added to the main event and a $500-added second-chance tournament. Players will compete on 16 brand-new Gold Crown VIII tables, and locals can follow the action live via The Sharkstream on Facebook or YouTube or by stopping in at the Route 5 pool room.
   

4. Connecticut U.S. Attorney's Office Announces More Than $9.2 Million in Settlements Connected to PPP Fraud Enforcement Initiative (justice.gov) — Federal prosecutors say a Wallingford-based long-term care pharmacy, East Rock, and its owners will pay part of a $400,000 settlement over how they used and sought forgiveness for PPP loans, alongside several other Connecticut companies. The broader enforcement effort recovered more than $9.2 million statewide, underscoring that pandemic relief spending tied to payroll and business loans is still under close federal scrutiny.
