• Victim Shot Several Times In Area Behind Mall: Waterbury Police (patch.com) — A 29-year-old man was treated for multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds after driving himself to a local hospital following a shooting behind the mall in Waterbury early Saturday morning. Police say the incident appears to stem from an isolated disturbance and are actively investigating. Residents who may have seen or heard anything are urged to contact the Waterbury Police Detective Bureau or Crime Stoppers.
   

• Darkness takes center stage as the 2026 CT fall theater season features thrills and chills (courant.com) — Waterbury theatergoers have a packed fall ahead, with the Rocky Horror Picture Show tour hitting the Palace Theater on Oct. 16, followed by "Hocus Pocus Live" on Oct. 29 and the touring musical "Mystic Pizza" Oct. 2–4. Later in the season, the Palace also hosts a one-man "A Christmas Carol" on Dec. 6 and the musical "Mrs. Doubtfire" Dec. 15–16. Plan ahead if you want good seats.
   

• Republican-American Community News from Waterbury, Torrington and Woodbury (nhregister.com) — Waterbury's Saint Mary's Hospital emergency department is being honored with the 2026 ENA Lantern Award for innovations that reduced wait times and improved patient safety and staff well-being, bringing national recognition to local care. The roundup also notes a major fundraising milestone for the Northwest CT Community Foundation in Torrington and a new art-hanging system donated to Woodbury's Old Town Hall, expanding cultural display space for community groups.
