The roundup also highlights Erica Canfield's historic Speedbowl win and key results from regional tracks and national NASCAR action, giving Waterford motorsports followers a broad look at recent competition. 
• BJ's proposal for Branford expected to draw big crowd at upcoming hearings (ctpost.com) — Waterford shoppers may see more regional competition as Branford considers a large BJ's Wholesale Club complex, which would join the existing BJ's on Cross Road in town and the Costco in East Lyme. The proposal includes a gas station, restaurants, and retail strip, and has sparked environmental and traffic concerns that will be aired at public hearings this fall.
