VA awards $1.312 million to organizations working to strengthen community-based suicide prevention efforts in Connecticut (va.gov) — West Haven's VA system is helping direct over $1.3 million in new federal grants to two Connecticut groups that work on suicide prevention for veterans, with funds arriving at the start of fiscal 2027. Connecticut man who attempted to join ISIS sentenced to 92 months (bristolpress.com) — A 29-year-old West Haven resident has been sentenced to more than seven and a half years in federal prison, plus lifetime supervision, for attempting to support ISIS and plotting to travel overseas to fight for the group.
