• Wethersfield To Plant 65 Trees With State Grant, Review Bike Trail Tree Removals (patch.com) — Wethersfield residents can weigh in as the Shade Tree Commission plans to use a new state grant to remove declining trees and plant 65 replacements across town, including around the new Highcrest Elementary School. The commission will also review tree removals tied to a proposed Marsh Street bike and walking trail, crosswalk improvements near Church Street, and ongoing fall planting and pruning work.

• CREC receives nearly $320K to help attendance (bristolpress.com) — Families in Wethersfield connected to CREC's Discovery Academy may see added support as the council receives nearly $320,000 to tackle chronic absenteeism across its magnet schools. The LEAP-funded effort will expand home visits, family engagement, and individualized attendance planning, aiming to remove barriers like transportation, health, and housing challenges for students throughout the Greater Hartford region.
